MEDPRO™ SUPERCARE 8" 3 Channels Anti-Decubitus / Pressure Relief Alternating Air Pressure Air Mattress with Digital Mode Pump & CPR Release
The 8" Alternating Air Pressure Mattress provides advanced pressure redistribution therapy to promote blood circulation and prevent further pressure sores in patients with existing pressure ulcers. The Air Bubble Cells inflate and deflate slowly in a pre-set, adjustable cycle to help alleviate pressure on critical areas, reducing the risk of new sores and promoting healing.
GUIDELINES FOR USE
While this mattress assists in pressure sore management, it’s important to continue regular patient repositioning and assessment. Turning the patient at intervals and monitoring high-risk areas should still be an integral part of the treatment plan.
This alternating air mattress is designed for Stage II to IV pressure sores and is intended for both short-term care and domiciliary use, providing ultimate comfort and relief for patients with existing pressure ulcers.
Different Modes
Panel Lock
Prevents accidental or unwanted changes to the system settings, ensuring consistent and safe operation.
Seat Inflate
Provides targeted support at the hip area when the bed is raised (e.g., in Fowler’s or semi-Fowler’s position). This prevents the patient from sliding down the mattress.
⚠️ Note: Intended for activities lasting less than 30 minutes. The system will automatically return to alternating mode after 30 minutes.
Auto-Firm
Fully inflates the mattress to provide firm support, making patient transfers from bed to chair safer and easier.
⚠️ Note: Intended for activities lasting less than 30 minutes. The system will automatically return to alternating mode after 30 minutes.
Alarm Reset
Quickly silences system alarms while you check and resolve the cause, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Cycle Time
Choose from 4 preset cycles (6, 9, 12, or 25 minutes) based on patient needs.
-
Shorter cycles: redistribute pressure more frequently.
-
Longer cycles: provide extended support on each area.
⚠️ Note: Cycle time should always be adjusted according to the patient’s medical condition, skin assessment, and comfort level. For patients with advanced sores or very fragile skin, a shorter cycle is usually safer.
Static Mode
Inflates all air cells evenly to provide a stable, even surface for short-term activities lasting more than 30 minutes, such as:
-
Patient feeding in bed
-
Dressing changes or wound inspection
-
When the patient needs to sit upright
⚠️ Note: Once activated, the mattress remains in static mode until manually switched back to alternating.
Alternating Mode
(Default setting when powered on)
The air cells inflate and deflate in sequence to:
-
Improve blood circulation
-
Minimize pressure on any one area
-
Reduce trapped heat and moisture
-
Provide gentle, continuous airflow
✨ All modes can be adjusted to suit the patient’s condition, ensuring both comfort and effective pressure relief.
INSTALLATION:
- Place the 8" air mattress securely on the bed.
- Attach the compressor pump to the footboard of the bed.
- Connect the mattress air tubes to the compressor, ensuring there are no kinks for proper airflow.
- Plug the compressor into the main power supply and turn it on.
- Set the "Auto Firm" mode for maximum air flow for rapid mattress inflation.
- Once inflated, adjust the pressure settings to the desired level.
RELOCATION/DEFLATION:
- Disconnect hose connector from pump unit.
- Open up CPR flaps by pulling up red straps so as to allow for more air outlet routes.
- Apply weight in the middle portion to push a reasonable amount of air out.
- Once the middle portion is adequately deflated, fold mattress in half.
- From the middle portion, slowly roll up and squeeze down on the semi-deflated mattress, making sure the air tube is not kinked.
- Once most of the air is forced out, the rolled-up mattress can be curled up to a smaller form to be fitted into a carrier bag. Make sure the hose cable is not tangled or tensioned in the process to prevent any damage.
SAFETY GUIDELINES:
- Precaution: Always take care when operating this electrical equipment.
- Unplug: Disconnect from the electrical supply when not in use.
- Humidity: Do not expose the equipment to high humidity environments.
- Cleaning Chemicals: Avoid using corrosive cleaning agents or solvents.
- Relocation: Never attempt to move the equipment while it is connected to power.
CLEANING THE COMPRESSOR (PUMP):
- Disconnect the compressor from the power supply before cleaning.
- Use a cloth with mild detergent to wipe the compressor, avoiding alcohol-based cleaning products.
- Ensure the compressor is completely dry before reconnecting it to the power supply.
